What is a group?

A group brings people together to communicate about a certain topic.

The administrators of the organization (the Management team, the Communication team, or the Human Resources team) are the ones who create the groups and add the participating people. The groups you see in Ommnio are the ones that your organization considers you need to see.

There are two types of groups:

  • Open for chatting: all group members can write and send files (photos, videos, audio, docs)
  • Read-only: the group administrators can send messages and files, but the rest of the members cannot reply. They can only read. These groups are especially useful when there are many subscribers and it doesn't make sense for everyone to respond.

Also, you can have one-on-one chats with the colleagues you share an open group with.
